Let me start out by saying, that this is the best Erotic Fiction I have ever read.The fact that this book has no ratings and reviews just goes to show how misguided the attention is in this genre. This book is being overlooked for shitty books that don't even come close to the competency that Lori Cook has illustrated by penning Carol. I've read book after book in the erotica genre that are all the same. Just plain horrible. Nothing has even come close to this, and I'm speaking as an erotica author myself.
The story is intricate and well thought out. The beginning lagged for me a bit but it was only because I was so confused by the situation. Once I unravelled this story, it was unstoppable. This author obviously put a lot of time and thought into the plot and the sex scenes are not repetitive. She actually gives the book a literary element. The sex is hotter than anything I've ever read and yet I cannot call this book smut because it is so much more.
The dialogue is thrilling yet believable. The plot is well structured and you never really know where this is all going. But once you creep to the end you're shocked that it's all over. Hopefully there's another book on the way because I don't think I have the patience to weed through all the other crappy erotica.
Lori Cook you are one talented writer and what a shame that you have yet to release another masterpiece.

This author lurks unseen behind a pen name, but this is very obviously not her first book. The writing is elegant, the leading lady plausibly flawed, and the sex scenes are incandescent. This is not the first female-viewpoint erotica I've read, but it's the best-written by far. Part of the attraction for me is that the taste for deception and manipulation, which I think many women share, is unabashedly displayed.
The fundamental Robin-Hood premise is a bit implausible, but the plotting and prose are first-rate. Whoever she is, I hope she will write more. I'm also very curious now to see what her non-genre writing is like; in either case, I'll buy whatever I can find of hers.
Never heard of this author but boy am I glad I stumbled onto her. This book had me hooked right from the beginning. Do I consider this erotica? yes and no. Generally, my experience with erotic novels(vast!!!) is there are some good sex scenes with some gibberish in between. Characters are insignificant as is the lackluster plot, useless filler really. Cook ranks right up there with Megan Hart, who combines erotica with a very decent plot and does both very well.
I am not going to spoil this by giving up any of the storyline, best if you dive in head first with no expectations and be pleasurably surprised as I did and was.
Yes I could add some really terrible Cook puns here but I'll spare you.
